Drs. Ueno, Chung and Litch chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to evaluate the patients bone and anatomy for dental implant placement, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.
Our office uses the Sirona Galileos CBCT scanner to take 3D images. It is one of the most technologically advanced CBCT scanners on the market, which gives beautiful images for your doctor to evaluate your jaw bone and vital structures for implants, wisdom teeth removal and other dental surgery procedures. Also, it has the added benefit of delivering a very low dose of radiation to our patients!
Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Drs. Ueno, Chung and Litch utilize Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 50 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. We may be able to see cavities better.
Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.
LANAP (Laser assisted New Attachment Procedure) or LAR (Laser Assisted Regeneration)
An FDA-cleared laser treatment called the LANAP protocol offers a less painful, more successful treatment alternative to conventional surgery. LANAP=LAR is the only scientifically, research proven methodology that results in true periodontal regeneration, new bone growth and gum tissue reattachment. LANAP and LAR is accomplished with the PerioLase MVP-7. It is a free-running, variable pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The 7 variable pulse durations can be thought of as “different lasers” in one device as they have discrete and discriminating tissue interactions. The LANAP=LAR treatment is one of the most successful protocols in treating gum disease because it can target the source of the inflammation without hurting or removing any healthy gum tissue, slow or stop attachment loss and decrease pocket depth, and allowing the body to recover from the chronic infection without the need for scalpel or sutures.

At Ueno Center Dental Specialists we use the TRIOS® Digital Impression System. With TRIOS® digital impressions systems we can take accurate impressions of your upper and lower jaw and then email those straight to the laboratory. Traditionally, you would have had to bite down on an adhesive, putty-like impression material, this would later be hardened and eventually sent off to the lab where your restoration would have been fabricated. With TRIOS® we can provide our patients a better Periodontics experience.
