 all on 4 Q&A

Am I a candidate if I have bone loss?

Yes! One of the biggest advantages of the All-on-4 technique is that it often eliminates the need for bone grafting, making it an ideal solution for patients who were previously told they couldn't get traditional implants.

Is the All-on-4 procedure painful?

Most patients are surprised by how little discomfort they feel. We offer various sedation options, including IV sedation, at our Campbell office to ensure you are completely relaxed. Any post-operative soreness is typically manageable with over-the-counter medication and subsides within a few days.

What can I eat after getting All-on-4 implants?

Immediately after the procedure, you will be on a soft-food diet (think pasta, fish, and eggs) while your implants integrate with the bone. Once your permanent, high-strength bridge is placed, you can return to eating all your favorite foods, including steak and apples, without worry.

How long do All-on-4 implants last?

With proper care and regular professional cleanings at Ueno Dental Center, the dental implants themselves are designed to be a permanent solution and can last 20+ years or a lifetime. The prosthetic bridge is highly durable but may require maintenance or replacement after 10–15 years due to normal wear.

How does All-on-4 compare to traditional dentures?

Unlike dentures, which can slip, click, or require messy adhesives, All-on-4 is a fixed, permanent solution. It restores nearly 90% of your natural biting force and prevents the jawbone loss that typically occurs with traditional dentures.

Can I get All-on-4 if I have gum disease?

Active periodontal disease must be treated before implants are placed. During your consultation in Campbell, our specialists will evaluate your oral health and create a custom plan to ensure your gums are healthy enough to support your new smile.

How do I clean my All-on-4 implants?

You clean them just like natural teeth—brushing twice a day and using a water flosser or specialized floss to clean under the bridge. Regular check-ups at our Campbell office will ensure your new smile stays healthy for decades.
