Ueno Center Telehealth Guidelines

The Ueno Center is proud to offer our patients the option of Telehealth/Teledentistry.  With this option, consultation and post-op appointments can be done virtually anywhere.  Please review these guidelines for our Telehealth visits.

Telehealth Consultations:

  • A text will be sent to you at or just prior to your appointed time slot (If you do not have a cell phone, we will email you a link).
  • Please BE ON TIME. We allow 30 minutes for our Telehealth consultations and if you are late to the consultation, this will take away from your overall appointment time.
  • In order for us to perform a Telehealth consultation, we will need you to fill out all patient forms online at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.  You can access our patient forms at
  • We will also need any pertinent x-rays, photos, and referral forms sent to us at least 24 hours prior to your consultation. (Note: If some or all of this information is missing, we can still proceed with a Telehealth consultation, but a definitive treatment plan cannot be made until you come into our office for the necessary records.)
  • Once we have the proper records, you can expect the following at your Telehealth consultation visit:
    • Your treating doctor will have a video ready for you that explains your treatment. He/she will also be available to answer any clinical questions related to your procedures.
    • Your consultation video will be emailed to both you and your referring doctor after your appointment so that everyone is informed and on the same page.
    • You will be assigned a Treatment Coordinator who will go over the financial portion of your visit, answer questions, schedule you for your treatment appointment, and take care of any needed prescriptions.
  • Telehealth consultations are billed out as an exam, just as if you came into the office for the appointment. The Ueno Center does not have an extra charge or convenience fee for Telehealth appointments.

Please Note: Not every patient will be a candidate for a Telehealth consultation appointment.

In cases where more advanced imaging and records are needed, we can give you a short, no-charge appointment with one of our surgical assistants, after which we may be able to schedule you for a Telehealth consultation to go over your treatment plan.

In some complex cases, an in-person exam may be necessary and a Telehealth appointment may not be offered as an option.

Telehealth Post-op Appointments:

  • After some of our procedures, you will have the option to have a Telehealth post-op appointment.
  • A text will be sent to you at or just prior to your appointed time slot (If you do not have a cell phone, we will email you a link).
  • Please treat this appointment as you would an in-person visit and BE ON TIME. If you are late to your Telehealth appointment, it may need to be rescheduled.
  • If you have an area of concern that you want us to look at during your Telehealth visit, please email any photos to us ahead of time to, or you can show us your mouth live during the Telehealth appointment. (If taking a photo, it is best to do it using the “macro” setting and additional lighting.)
  • We will answer all of your questions and then schedule your next appointment as needed.
  • There is no charge for these post-op Telehealth visits.

Telehealth Dentistry has been an amazing addition to our practice as it helps to enhance the patient experience and reduce overall exposure during these most difficult times.  It is also convenient as these appointments can be done from the comfort of your own home or from any location!

Again, not everyone will qualify for Telehealth, but if you are interested in this type of appointment for either your consultation or post-op appointment, please let a Ueno Center team member know. We look forward to serving you safely!

Warm regards,

The Ueno Center Team
